Hampta Pass Trek is a breathtaking and famous adventure in Himachal Pradesh, India. Nestled between the magnificent Himalayan ranges, Hampta Trek is considered the best Trekking in India, and it provides a fascinating mingle of scenic beauty, a thrilling experience, and challenging terrains for nature lovers and adventure enthusiasts alike.
It leads you through transforming landscapes, including barren valleys, gushing rivers, lush green meadows, and dense forests, providing a captivating and diverse experience. You will have to start your journey in a beautiful town called Manali, a place very popular for its scenic beauty and tourism. The normal duration of your trek is 5-6 days, and you will cover a distance of 35-40 kms.

Mid-June to Mid-September is the ideal time. The climate is stable, and trails are accessible.
June-July: Valleys in full bloom with vibrant alpine flowers.
Aug-Sept: Lush landscapes, but prepare for irregular rainfall. By Mid-September, the monsoon retreats for clear, crisp views.
Moderate to Challenging. Accessible to beginners with moderate fitness, but requires reasonable stamina.
You'll reach altitudes of 14,100 ft (4,300m) and navigate steep ascents, snow patches, and rocky terrains over 35-40 km.
By Air: Fly from Delhi to Bhuntar (Kullu). Take a 2-hour cab ride to Manali (50km).
By Road: Hire a taxi or Volvo bus from Delhi to Manali (approx 12-14 hours). From Manali, the trek begins at Jobra.

Briefing in Manali followed by a scenic drive to Jobra. From there, an easy 2 km walk into a mixed forest of towering pine and maple. Cross the Rani Nallah bridge and arrive at the breathtaking Chikka campsite for a premium camping night.
Transition from tree line to open alpine meadows. Cross the icy river to Jwara, laced with wildflowers. Ascent continues to Balu Ka Ghera (Mound of Sand), a sandy riverbed surrounded by towering mountains to camp.
The most challenging and rewarding day. Steep zigzagging ascent onto Hampta Pass at 14,100 feet. Experience panoramic views bridging Kullu and Spiti valleys. Followed by a sharp 50-degree descent into Lahaul valley to camp at Shea Goru.
Early morning glacial stream crossing. Downhill walk to Chhatru roadhead. Board vehicles for a thrilling off-road drive to the legendary Chandratal Lake (14,000 ft). Return to Chhatru for final camping.
Drive through the engineering marvel, Atal Tunnel, transitioning from barren Spiti deserts back to the lush Kullu Valley. Drop off at Manali with memories to last a lifetime.
